It's time for a road trip!
Beginning on May 15 I will be driving our John Deere tractor from Bellingham, Washington to Perch Lake, Minnesota. Yep I said tractor! I will be raising awareness about Parkinson's Disease - as well as critical funds - as I drive (slowly) across the country. I will be sharing my progress on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, so make sure to follow me on this epic journey!
My brother Dan was diagnosed with Parkinson's this past year and suddenly our entire family was learning about this progressive nervous system disorder that currently has no cure. Every 9 minutes someone in the US is diagnosed with Parkinson's. It is the fastest growing neurological disease and set to outpace Alzheimer's by 2040.
This inspired me and my family to DO SOMETHING, and the idea for the cross country tractor trip was hatched. All along my road trip I will be visiting with people impacted by Parkinson's, and raising funds for APDA. I will be traveling on Hwy 20 across Washington and then US Hwy 2 across Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota. If you live somewhere along my route, I hope you find me to say hello! This trip will be approximately 1700 miles, so here are some ways you can support the cause:
- $.01/mile = $17 donation
- $.02/mile = $34 donation
- $.05/mile = $85 donation
- $.10/mile = $170 donation
- $.25/mile = $425 donation
Let's take action against this debilitating disease! You can make an online donation by clicking on the 'Support Me' button. You will automatically receive a confirmation email and I will be notified by email of your support. Thank you for your generosity. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
How will your gift be used? APDA provides education programs, exercise and wellness classes, support groups and connections, resources, research, and more. All free of charge. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
