Welcome to the Annual APDA Adventure Race for Parkinson's!
The APDA Adventure Race for Parkinson's is a scavenger hunt in Ballard filled with fun mental, silly physical challenges and serious clue solving all while benefitting the American Parkinson Disease Association, Northwest Chapter (APDA Northwest) .
Event Details: The event takes place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Team check in will be open from 12:00 to 12:45 pm. Your team must be registered, present and ready to go by 1:00 pm at the Trident Seafoods Parking Lot, 5303 Shilshole Avenue NW, Seattle, WA 98107. The Adventure Race then kicks off as teams scramble around Ballard in search of clues and completing challenges until 2:30pm. Then all teams are invited to join us for a post-event party at Peddler Brewing Company from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, where we'll kick back and recap the day with prizes, a mini live auction, raffle and refreshments!
What Now: Sign up online today to be a team captain, then recruit 1-3 other team members to join you (all team members have to be registered online and max team size is 4, so if you have more people just sign them up as and additional team and compete against each other). Registration is just $50 per person, sign up today before this event sells out!
Start Raising Money Now: Each team that raises $500 will receive 10 BONUS POINTS, and if your team raises $1000 you will receive an additional 10 BONUS POINTS for a total of 20 BONUS POINTS! Your team must raise the $500 or $1000 via your APDA fundraising page before 11:59 pm on October 4th. As added incentive, an anonymous donor has generously offered to match up to $5,000! This challenge gift is an extraordinary opportunity for you to further support APDA's work to find a cure and assist more people affected by Parkinson's.
Corporate Matching Dollars: Leverage Corporate Matching. Many employers offer matching funds for charitable donations. Remind your team members and donors to make donations through your team page before 11:59 pm on October 4th and then follow these easy steps: select the “this gift is match-eligible” box and then enter employer name and match amount i.e. 50%, 100%, then email APDA at email@example.com confirmation that the matching request was submitted to have it counted towards your bonus points. If using the Benevity platform for matching, please select American Parkinson Disease Association as the charity and Northwest Chapter as the project.
Recruit NEW Team Captains: When you refer a new team captain, you'll earn 3 bonus points up to a max of 9 bonus points. The new team captain just has to type in your name as the person who told them about the event when they register so start recruiting today!
Design Your Team Costume: There will be a prize for the team with the best costume so get creative or get down to Value Village for something memorable. Yes – this will be subject to the judge’s taste (or lack thereof).
