Be a hero to the Parkinson's disease (PD) community by raising funds that will help people with PD live life to the fullest. DIY Fundraising is a great way to get involved and make a difference. It’s also a great opportunity to engage friends, family members and co-workers who ask "What can I do to help?" It’s an easy yet meaningful way to include others in your effort to support the fight against PD.
Just set yourself up with a Personal Campaign Page (see below) and you’re ready to start fundraising! We provide easy online tools and templates to make your fundraising a breeze.
How it Works
Step One: Create your Personal Campaign Page now. You can use it to honor or memorialize a family member or friend, commemorate a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, or create your own unique fundraiser. Customize your page by writing a personal story and/or adding a picture so people understand why this is so important to you.
Step Two: Invite friends and family to support you – either by joining you in person (if appropriate based on your activity) or through easy online donations. Send out emails and post it on your social media channels. When posting, provide a direct link or URL to your personal campaign page so that it’s super easy for people to donate. And then watch the donations come in!
Step Three: Say thank you to your donors! This is a critic step in fundraising, no matter how small a donation may be. You'll be notified whenever a gift is made and we will supply you with a sample thank you email, but you can personalize it or write your own if you’d like.
Update It: Once you've created your Personal Fundraising Campaign and are sharing it, you will want to keep it up to date. Let people know how your fundraising and/or training is going (or whatever other updates are relevant to your activity.) Periodic updates not only show how much effort you’re putting into this, but also serve as a gentle reminder to those who have not donated yet.
Whether you are living with PD, know someone who is, or just want to support a good cause – creating a DIY Fundraiser is a fantastic way to make a difference for those impacted by PD.
Thank you for supporting APDA! We appreciate it more than you know.
