6 people are diagnosed with PD every hour. Spread PDOPTIMISM & together we can "ease the burden, find a cure"!

We need your help!
Parkinson's disease affects EVERYONE in the United States.
Every year 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. There are 164 new diagnosis every day. That's 6 people EVERY HOUR.With no cure for Parkinson's disease, together, we can Live, Share & Spread awareness for APDA's dual mission to Ease the Burden - Find the Cure for Parkinson's disease.

When Parkinson’s disease is seen in individuals under the age of 40, it is called
“young onset” Parkinson’s disease (YOPD). However, the age range considered
young onset varies somewhat depending on the source.
It is estimated that approximately 10% of the 1.5 to 2 million people with PD
in the United States fall into the YOPD category, strictly defined as occurring
between the ages of 21-40. The number of cases may actually be much higher
than 10% of the PD population because Parkinson's disease is often overlooked
as a possible diagnosis in younger patients
