SKIPPERS AND CREW:
Join us on June 24 for the Regatta Fundraising Race as part of the Downtown Sailing Series hosted by Elliott Bay Marina. This is APDA's 2nd annual race, with the goal of combining the enthusiasm of the sailing community while raising critical funds for the American Parkinson Disease Association, Northwest Chapter (APDA). Enjoy a fabulous afternoon on the water while supporting people with Parkinson's, their families, and APDA. Reach out to family, friends, and colleagues to help raise funds that will help pay for local support services, education programs, exercise classes, resources, research, and more (fundraising for this cause is easy, we promise)! Early Registration for the race is $200 and includes two tickets to the After Party. On June 17 the registration fee goes up to $250, so register today!
New this year, APDA will be awarding incentives for teams and individuals who achieve fundraising goals. SET A FUNDRAISING GOAL: Aim high!
For Skippers and Crew: Each person sets their personal fundraising goal – this is the amount you hope to raise through donations from your family, friends, and colleagues. Each Skipper/Captain also sets an overall fundraising goal for their boat. The funds raised by individual crew members feed into the boat total. Supporters can donate to individual crew members, or make a general donation to the boat – either way, it gets incorporated into the team total.
Goal Incentives:
- Level One $500: All individuals and teams who raise $500 will receive an iconic 2023 Regatta Fundraising Race burgee. For teams who raise $500, only one burgee per team unless multiple individuals on the team raise $500.
- Level Two $1,000: For teams that raise $1,000, APDA will give a shoutout on social media, award the first 10 teams with five $20 gift certificates to Daniel's Broiler (Downtown location), the Skipper will receive a $.20 cent per gallon fuel discount from Elliott Bay Marina towards one fill up and the team will receive a specialty tray of drinks at the after party.
- Top Individual Fundraiser (Minimum raised must be $1,000 and the top 3 winners will be awarded): The top 3 individual fundraisers who raise a minimum of $1,000 will receive a Family Portrait Session with RKJ Portraits valued at $895 and a specialty drink at the after party. The highest individual fundraiser will be featured in our next issue of the Parkinson's Pathfinder! Restrictions: For Family Portrait Sessions, winners must contact RKJ Portraits within 2 weeks of the event to activate the certificate.
- Top Fundraising Team (Minimum raised must be $2,500): The top fundraising team will be featured in our next issue of the Parkinson's Pathfinder and receives a Crew Party courtesy of Cameron Catering. Raise the most and enjoy appetizers for 12 dropped at your boat or home from Cameron Catering to celebrate. Restrictions: Catering applicable for Seattle area ONLY and mutually agreeable date and no holidays. Catering value is $600.
