The American Parkinson Disease Association has compiled a long list of accomplishments in scientific breakthroughs as well as creating a national network of chapters and centers that address the needs, cares, and concerns of people with PD, their caregivers and families in the area. APDA is a national organization working locally through our chapters, support groups and Information & Referral Centers.

You are joining volunteers, young and old, across the country in raising funds to enable our most brilliant scientists to discover what causes the progressive, degenerative neurological disease. In the past, their efforts have made us funding partners in the research that identified the influence of heredity; the role of environmental forces, and the presence of gene mutation in the cause of PD. It is the funding that has allowed scientists to create scanning methods that identify the presence of PD.

APDA is proud to have recognized the different challenges of young people with PD and established the first national center to address those needs, as well as the only organization with a center dedicated to U.S. Armed Forces veterans.

In response to community requests, APDA has now created a new campaign, Optimism, that allows us much more individuality and diversity when it comes to planning events.  We have also developed Personalized Fundraising Campaigns, where an individual can create their own fundraiser page to honor or memorialize a family member or friend, commemorate a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, or create your very own fundraiser, while supporting the mission of the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc.

Your efforts are vital in building the awareness and raising the dollars that will drive our mission to “Ease the Burden – Find the Cure” into its next half decade until the cure is discovered.
