• Vital Parkinson's disease research on issues such as the influence of heredity, the role of environmental forces and the presence of gene mutation in the cause of PD.

• Career development for some of the most brilliant scientists in the field of PD research.

• A national network of chapters and Information & Referrral Centers offering education and support services to people with PD, their caregivers and family members.

• Centers dedicated to addressing the needs of special populations:
            APDA National Young Onset Center
           APDA National Rehabilitation Center 
           APDA Center for Armed Forces Veterans
